It was a spirited debate in Canada last Friday, as atheist Christopher Hitchens and former British Prime Minister Tony Blair went back and forth on religion. They debated the idea, "Religion is a force for good in the world."
Blair, who converted to Catholicism after leaving office in 2007, said faith was a force for good and it was "futile" to attempt to drive it out. But Hitchens, who is terminally ill with cancer, argued that religion forced people into doing terrible things.
